On November 1998, the church was established when twenty one adults and sixteen youth who love and worship God gathered together at the Cantre residence in Woodcroft.

Pastor Ding Cantre, an ordained Minister/Pastor of the Church of the Foursquare Gospel, Australia, was called by God to lead the church. By much consideration and prayer the church was named COME TO JESUS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, now known as CTJ.

CTJ places itself under the covering of the Church of the Foursquare Gospel Australia from the day of its formation and had been under the guidance and supervision of Pastor Wayne Magee, the General Supervisor of the denomination at the time. The Foursquare Statement of Faith has been CTJ’s foundation for its teachings and practices to deepen our faith and commitment to the Church and to the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the season of the Church’s formation while seeking God’s divine heart for CTJ, we embraced Matthew 11: 28 as the sounding voice to reach God’s people, “Come to Me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burden, and I will give you rest”.

True and faithful to His revelation, CTJ leaders encountered and experienced ministering to the weary, burdened, and to those who have lost hope. To this we give Him our praise.

On February 14, 1999, CTJ had our inaugural service at the Glendenning Neighbourhood Centre where we gathered for Sunday Services for the next 3 years. Focused on reaching out the lost and the church’s commitment to sharing God’s love and salvation, we saw the increase of people coming into our doors. This paved the way for the recognition of the Foursquare denomination by granting us the status of a Chartered Church on August 1, 1999.

The year 2005 was a great year of anticipation and expectation because the Lord gave His word that “He will cause something new and different” (Jer 31: 22). Doors of opportunity opened for us to purchase and own a permanent place of worship in Glendenning. It was a testimony of God’s answer and favour for years of prayer and petitions.

The willing hearts, the unity of the body, the generosity of the spirit, moved the Church as one to make it possible to acquire the building where we are currently worshipping.

December 10, 2006, with much joy and thanksgiving, CTJ members, friends, and guests held its inaugural service at our new home to the praise and glory of our Father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ and the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit.

Fourteen years later, God is continuing to expand our territory to impact the local Western Sydney community and has given way for us to release members into the mission field where the harvest is plenty, but the labourers are few.
