Prayer is the backbone of the church and the strength behind every conquered battle. The wars that we wage are won not because of heavy or mass artillery, but because someone fought hard on their knees in prayer.
E.M. Bounds says this about prayer, "What the church needs today is not more or better machinery, not new organisations or more and novel methods. She needs men whom the Holy Spirit can use - men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Spirit does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men - men of prayer!"
Every Wednesday at 8pm, CTJ church holds a prayer meeting. It is a time where we come before the Lord in humility, align ourselves to His heartbeat, and intercede and pray for the needs of the church and for God's will to be done on earth!
“The Cinderella of the church today is the prayer meeting. This handmaid of the Lord is unloved and unwooed because she is not dripping with the pearls of intellectualism, nor glamorous with the silks of philosophy; neither is she enchanting with the tiara of psychology. She wears the homespuns of sincerity and humility and so is not afraid to kneel!” - Leonard Ravenhill
I want to be part of the Prayer ministry
Serving this ministry involves more than just attending Wednesday prayer meetings. The prayer team are committed to interceding during Sunday services. These include morning prayer and discovering the art of intercession throughout the week.
Nikki Aben is the overseer for the Prayer ministry.
